
Carl thought about the irony—he’d wanted peace and quiet, but he’d created chaos instead. But he quickly pushed the guilt aside. They’d started the whole thing, he told himself. He’d only finished it, quickly and effectively.
Still, Carl sighed, knowing he hadn’t gotten the relaxing flight home he’d wanted. As the plane touched down and he gathered his bags, he decided not to dwell on it. What’s done was done. As he stepped off the plane, he had one clear thought in mind: next time, he was absolutely paying extra for first class, no exceptions.
