The next morning, Nathan dragged his exhausted body back to the hospital, his mind still weighed down by the bizarre and terrifying events of the night before. He spotted a senior nurse in the staff break room, and after a brief moment of hesitation, he decided to open up about his strange, unsettling experience.
“Oh, sounds like your official newbie initiation has finally started,” the senior nurse said with an amused laugh, clearly finding the whole situation entertaining. “It’s just standard protocol for new staff here at Saint Luther’s.” She gave him a knowing smirk, the kind that suggested he’d understand soon enough.
Nathan blinked in pure confusion. “Initiation? What do you mean by that?” The nurse just shrugged casually. “Saint Luther’s classic pranks are a rite of passage for every new recruit. Stuff goes missing out of nowhere, weird random noises echo through the halls, patient charts get moved around….” Her tone was totally casual, like she was sharing a harmless inside joke with him.
