
He couldn’t bring himself to step foot back inside the morgue after everything he’d been through. Part of him thought whatever was lurking there might reveal itself more easily if he wasn’t physically present in the room. The other part of him, consumed by fear, was simply too terrified to go back inside that cold, creepy space.
Nathan set his laptop up in front of him, connecting it to the hidden cameras he’d installed earlier. His hands trembled slightly as he pulled up the live feeds, staring at the empty morgue from the safety and comfort of his locked car. For a long while, nothing happened at all. Just the silent view of an empty room, the occasional flicker on the camera feeds, and an unsettling eeriness hanging thick in the air.
