Two police officers arrived at their apartment within the hour. Adam told them everything that had happened—her sudden disappearance, her dead phone, the mysterious bouquet of flowers, the abandoned run-down building with the unknown address. His voice wavered as he spoke, but he clung to every small detail like a lifeline, hoping it would somehow bring Clara back to him safely.
He showed them the few belongings she’d left behind: her toothbrush, a couple of old t-shirts, and her half-empty shampoo bottle. The officers examined each item quietly, taking careful notes. Nothing suggested she’d planned a long trip away or been interrupted while packing her things to leave.
